I not only love photographing families, but I also love photographing the city in which I live. Recently, I stopped by the Waggoner Mansion just off the square in Decatur, TX. The sun was setting quickly, but I was able to grab a few shots before it settled under the horizon for the night.
According to the Wise County Historical Society, the Waggoner Mansion was built in 1883. While it’s close to 135 years old, it has retained around ninety percent of its original craftsmanship and material. It bears the name of a mansion because it contains sixteen rooms and six and one-half bathrooms. In total there are 6 bedrooms.
While uninhabited, it still remains a Decatur icon that can be viewed from the Decatur Town Square.
